Seventeen - getting in on effects!

Hi Peeps!

Having indulged my obsession with nail related stuff I decided to share just a few of polishes in my recent haul!

Seventeen @ boots have re branded recently and have also kept up to speed with the trend for texture and glitter polishes (indie stylie!)

The Textured ones are called Rock Hard Nail Effects - when I picked this up in my local Boots this was the only colour that they had an as I had not seen a grey textured polish anywhere else I thought I'd give it whirl!

Seventeen is not a brand that I normally go for and as there was a 3 for 2 offer I thought I'd get involved.  The formula seemed a bit watery and for the swatch I have applied 2 coats and this is fully opaque. I like the alternative look this gives and would be great as an accent with silver or glitters. I was very pleased to discover that there are in fact other colours available see here I want the red and black now!!

Next were the Off the Wall Graffiti colours. From what I can gather there are only 2 different colours in this small collection. (Mr or Mrs Boots make me a red, purple and multi glitter in clear base pls!!!)

First up is Monochrome - this is a clear base with black and white hex's and bar glitters in it these vary in size from microscopic to huge!! I was amazed by the quality of this polish as Seventeen is not a brand I normally go for but there was a 3 for 2 offer so my arm was twisted. I have also not noticed many reviews of this brand and I follow a lot of bloggers.

Second is the Blue tone - this is a blue base with silver and black glitters in it they are mostly hex's in black and silver varying sizes and microscopic black glitters. To get this fully opaque more than 2 coats would be required (the swatch has 2 coats) however by this time I doubt the base colour would be seen due to the amount of glitter.

these polishes both deposit even amounts of glitter over the nail so not a lot of placement is required, which is a bonus over all I really like these products and I recommend anyone to try them. (all opinions are my own and I have bought the products myself. I am not paid for any of my opinions)

Barry M - summer limited editions

Hi Peeps!

Limited Editions are music to my ears and I have to have them!! especially as they are my favourite brand Barry M! I picked these up at Superdrug in store they are free when you spend £6 on Barry M on line they appear to be on sale for £3.99 each.

Well since I was planning to add to my collection and get the Confetti and new Gelly High Shine Shades. I held off as soon as I knew these little beauties were on offer. I have seen mixed comments on these across Twitter and Face Book about these polishes.

They do seem to have a more watery formula even though Barry M have stated that the formula is the same as other polishes. I have worn the pink with a top coat of confetti Marshmallow see my previous here for the confetti polishes.

On my swatches I have used 2 coats of each and they are more vibrant if painted over a white base.

Barry M announced on Twitter and Face Book that they are going to have 2 limited editions on sale in Boots as well from Today see here

I feel some further purchases on the horizon!! ;o)
A vibrant yellow and another pink which they stated is more vibrant than the super drug one!

I pinched this pic from their Face Book Page!! hope they don't mind?!!
