Rock Hard

Hi Peeps!

I have a review of the Seventeen Rock Hard Nail Effects for you! I briefly mentioned them in a previous post click here!

As I was in Boots the other day and had a voucher to spend I thought it would be rude not to pick these up and have the complete collection.

Boots Seventeen range has a number of mini-collections and this is one of them.

There are four different colours in the range Red, Blue, Black and Grey (grey was mentioned in the previous post!)

These polishes are textured polish and are their equivalent of Zoya Pixie Dust, OPI Liquid Sand or Barry M Texture.  The formula is very sheer and the granules are tiny and to get full opacity two coats are required.  The polish isn't as matte at the other textured polishes I have seen or tried.

On to the colours!  (after the jump!)

They come in 10ml Bottles the brushes in the bottles are nothing special. 'They ain't no OPI brush!' and even Boots' other brand No7 have better brushes. These polishes are £3.99 normally and currently on sale for £2.99.

The picture below is without flash, this does pick up that the colour it's self in-between the granules is not exactly matte! I was interested to try these as I had not seen these particular colours in textures before. (I know OPI have new ones all the time and have probably got something planned)

The majority of textures available in UK appear to be pretty colours like Barry M's or they are premium brands like OPI. Seventeen is an affordable brand and will stretch to pocket money prices for early teens! Although when full price they are equal to the the Barry M prices.  If Barry M had had these colours they would have had my money!!!

From this swatch the Grey and Black do not look dis-similar (this is the natural lighting in my dining room!) below I have swatched all the colours on one nail separated by micro beads! (I really don't like micro beads, they move and don't do as they are told!!)
The pic below is with the flash and really does the colours justice. I don't think I'll be sporting this look as a full mani any time soon! It does show the differences in the black and grey though!

Overall the product is ok! I don't think I'd want to wear all one colour on every nail at once but to use them as an accent nail or in nail art would be more my bag!

Let me know if you have tried these product or have suggestions on how to wear them. I love to know what you think.

Thanks for dropping by!
