Octobers - You Beauty Discovery Box

Hi Peeps!
I saw a link on a blog I was reading for You Beauty Discovery and for the life of me I cannot remember which blog it was.  I took a trip to the website http://www.youbeautydiscovery.co.uk/ and read about what was what and decided to give it a whirl.
I signed up late in October and a lot of the items that you could choose where already out of stock.
I have taken the exert from the web page about how it works.
The full details on how it works
YOU Beauty Discovery is a monthly beauty membership service, which delivers a beautifully packaged beauty box straight to your door containing 2 personally selected deluxe beauty products plus a number of exciting monthly treats. Throughout the year, there will also be available limited edition luxury beauty boxes packed with between 6 to 12 beauty products.
1.   Become a Member
To become a member of YOU Beauty Discovery only takes a couple of minutes. To create an account, all you do is fill in your base details and provide payment details for your rolling monthly membership - which you can cancel at any time - and you will become part of the YOU Beauty Discovery club. It costs £6.95 per month and allows you to select 2 product samples to try every month, delivered to your door.
Your payment details will be stored in our secure system so you will not have to re-enter your payment details.
Once membership is set up, there is no need to go through payment process each month as it is already active on the membership account.
Each month, members will be prompted via email to visit www.youbeautydiscovery.co.uk to select the 2 items for that month’s box.
2.   Monthly Box - Product selection
As a member, you are in control as you decide which products you would like to include in your monthly box.
  • Click on the “Beauty Box” tab to be directed to a page that lists the shortlist of 6-10 monthly prestige beauty sample products specially selected in liaison with YOU magazine beauty editors.
  • Select the 2 beauty products you would like to receive in your beauty box. These products are available whilst stocks last, so be one of the first to log-in on a monthly basis to select your products and avoid disappointment.
  • If you do NOT select 2 specific samples then YOU Beauty Discovery will send 2 surprise beauty samples from the list of 6-10 available that month.
  • Members will receive emails to let them know when the monthly selections are available to peruse
  • If nothing on the list appeals, then it’s easy to cancel your membership. We’ll remember your details to ensure it’s easy for you to renew your membership at a later date if you wish
3.   Delivery of Monthly Beauty Box
2 deluxe beauty samples, a mini YOU magazine, a healthy treat and an accessory will be beautifully packaged and sent to you in one of our gorgeous boxes.
Be sure to keep your account up-to-date with billing and delivery addresses so we know where to send your monthly box.
4.   Limited Edition Boxes
As well as the monthly YOU Beauty Box, we also offer one-off Limited Edition Beauty Boxes. These boxes will contain 6-12 beauty products and will be available seasonally throughout the year (minimum of 4 per year); focusing on a particular theme or brand exclusivity.

Like the look of our Limited Edition Boxes but not keen on memberships? Not a problem. You don’t need to be a member of YOU Beauty Discovery to be able to order a Limited Edition Box - these occasional one-off Limited Edition boxes are available to everyone.
I got October's You Beauty Discovery Box about 30th October I did sign up late on in the month though!! This months theme was 'handbag heroes' in side was the booklet. The booklet gives information about the reason for the theme and it also mentions that this is the second box to be produced.

College -Halloween Project

Hi Peeps!

Again its been a long time since my last post :( So much has been going on.  I have had assignments that all seemed to be needed in at once! I did have a week off work 2 weeks ago which should have allowed me to get posting however I spent the whole time doing assignments. It was nice not to be in work but I still had to go to college so spent my Birthday in college on the Friday :(  oh well!

I have wanted to blog about college but I have been holding back as I was waiting for work to confirm I could change my shifts to allow me 2 full days to go to college and still work my 35 hour week. It didn't help with college changing the time table about 3 times either and then the work announced that my job may be at risk!!! That is all sorted now and I have complete my first half term at college and had confirmation I still have a job!

My First nail art project was Halloween and I had to use liquid and powder using a range of media including 3D, embedding, encapsulation, colour blending, & hand painting. I decided to make my nails look like a set of teeth (vampire teeth!!) and mix that with a cartoon feel. This was only a practice nail art assignment and wont go towards the final grade for the qualification.

This was sooooooo much fun to do. I used all kinds of things to make these nails, there was glitter, crafting foam, tin foil, oogle eyes, ribbon, netting, rhinestones and paint

I loved doing these and just being creative. I wanted them to look child like and simple and was pleased with my outcome.

Once all the nails are produced we have a photo shoot session at college so I made a background for the nails out of crafting foam.  I just went mad with a pair of scissors and glue and this is what I ended up with!

Hope you like the post. Thanks for stopping by Lolly_Elle :o) x

Top Coats!

Hi Peeps!
Thought I'd share my thoughts on top coats with you. In particular gemstone, glitter, opal, etc
A while ago my friend from work a Fellow polish junkie and when I say a while probably February time (omg where is the year going!) Had the most beautiful nail polish on. it was a lovely blue with 'Andrea Fulerton gem stone' over the top, to say it was amazeballs is an under statement!  From then I had to have it off to superdrug I trundled to get me one.
She shoots she scored! Get me home quick I have nails to top coat!
Since then a few different companies have jumped on the topcoat band wagon so I thought I'd show you my acquisitions

These are left to right Barry M - Crystal Glaze , Limited Collection - Wanderlust , Andrea Fulerton - Gemstone top coat & Avon - Opal

I ssuppose they are all good in their own way depends what effect you're looking for. Below are the swatches of each top coat over a base of BarryM - Indigo (the swatches are in the same order as the bottles)

BarryM and Limited Collection are very similar, Gem stone always seems to show as a red effect! avon's opal is more chunky and is in bits. Its hard to pick a favorite out of each of these my least favourite is Opal as you can feel the bits on your nails as they chunky. I think i'll leave it to you to decide ! Hope you enjoy the post.  Thanks for dropping by Lolly_Elle :o) x
