I saw a link on a blog I was reading for You Beauty Discovery and for the life of me I cannot remember which blog it was. I took a trip to the website http://www.youbeautydiscovery.co.uk/ and read about what was what and decided to give it a whirl.
I signed up late in October and a lot of the items that you could choose where already out of stock.
I have taken the exert from the web page about how it works.
YOU Beauty Discovery is a monthly beauty membership service, which delivers a beautifully packaged beauty box straight to your door containing 2 personally selected deluxe beauty products plus a number of exciting monthly treats. Throughout the year, there will also be available limited edition luxury beauty boxes packed with between 6 to 12 beauty products.
1. Become a Member
To become a member of YOU Beauty Discovery only takes a couple of minutes. To create an account, all you do is fill in your base details and provide payment details for your rolling monthly membership - which you can cancel at any time - and you will become part of the YOU Beauty Discovery club. It costs £6.95 per month and allows you to select 2 product samples to try every month, delivered to your door.
Your payment details will be stored in our secure system so you will not have to re-enter your payment details.
Once membership is set up, there is no need to go through payment process each month as it is already active on the membership account.
Each month, members will be prompted via email to visit www.youbeautydiscovery.co.uk to select the 2 items for that month’s box.
2. Monthly Box - Product selection
As a member, you are in control as you decide which products you would like to include in your monthly box.
- Click on the “Beauty Box” tab to be directed to a page that lists the shortlist of 6-10 monthly prestige beauty sample products specially selected in liaison with YOU magazine beauty editors.
- Select the 2 beauty products you would like to receive in your beauty box. These products are available whilst stocks last, so be one of the first to log-in on a monthly basis to select your products and avoid disappointment.
- If you do NOT select 2 specific samples then YOU Beauty Discovery will send 2 surprise beauty samples from the list of 6-10 available that month.
- Members will receive emails to let them know when the monthly selections are available to peruse
- If nothing on the list appeals, then it’s easy to cancel your membership. We’ll remember your details to ensure it’s easy for you to renew your membership at a later date if you wish
2 deluxe beauty samples, a mini YOU magazine, a healthy treat and an accessory will be beautifully packaged and sent to you in one of our gorgeous boxes.
Be sure to keep your account up-to-date with billing and delivery addresses so we know where to send your monthly box.
4. Limited Edition Boxes
As well as the monthly YOU Beauty Box, we also offer one-off Limited Edition Beauty Boxes. These boxes will contain 6-12 beauty products and will be available seasonally throughout the year (minimum of 4 per year); focusing on a particular theme or brand exclusivity.
Like the look of our Limited Edition Boxes but not keen on memberships? Not a problem. You don’t need to be a member of YOU Beauty Discovery to be able to order a Limited Edition Box - these occasional one-off Limited Edition boxes are available to everyone.
I got October's You Beauty Discovery Box about 30th October I did sign up late on in the month though!! This months theme was 'handbag heroes' in side was the booklet. The booklet gives information about the reason for the theme and it also mentions that this is the second box to be produced.
......On to the Box
The box has 2 treats which are pre-selected and then 2 items which I chose.
The 'October Surprises are Nakd Whole Food snack bar. The booklet states 'Our simplest and most beloved bars. Just raw fruits and nuts smooshed together. Containing 100% natural ingredients with no added sugars or syrups, these bars are also, wheat, dairy and gluten free and bursting with yummy goodness.' The Flavour I got was Cocoa Orange. I didn't eat this I gave it to my Mum, she said it was ok a bit claggy but she seemed to enjoy it overall. On to the choices ......................
I chose the bath and shower gel from Nobel Isle which is made in the UK.

This smells sooooooo nice and luxurious I chose this item because I love trying new body washes. Even though some of the options were out of stock I was glad this one was still available. I feel that £20 is a bit steep for body wash and I probably would not buy this but I'm happy to try it out. For every day washing I think I'll stay loyal to Soap and Glory on that front!!
A while ago I tried Balance Me body wash which was a sample on a magazine that was lovely however was also £20 for a full size product, so Nobel Isle is a similar price for a higher end non-high street item. Although I like this the price does put me off but I would be happy to receive as a prezzie!! ;o)
The final item I opted for was..........

I really wanted the Mascara that was available for October but it was out of stock :o( so I decided to choose something for my Mum. She does a lot of gardening and always wears rubber gloves when she is gardening which makes her skin on her hands dry. She has used this brand before and loved it so was happy to try this. It smelt wonderful. I did have a little try of it with her and wasn't greasy and absorbed instantly into skin. Lovely product.
