Greens are good for you!

Hi Peeps!

I have some art for you in this post!

I while ago I decided to go with a green theme and do a different design on each of my nails using Barry M Greenberry Gelly Hi-shine and the textured Ridley Road as the base colours.

after the jump are the designs and the products I used!

SpaRitual

Hi Peeps!

I bring you Sparitual! this is a salon/spa quality brand and is used by professionals.  I hadn't heard of this particular brand until I went to college and these were in my manicure and nail art kits! below are the colours that I received.

At first I was a bit disappointed that the colours for my course were as limited as these. When you get a big box filled with nail related goodies I am always excited and I was expecting really vibrant outspoken colours to match the names of these polishes. I was given the names on my list of items prior to ordering!

Swatches are after the jump.

Avon Opal - Opalesce

 Hi Peeps!

Well its been a week since my last post! I went back to work on Monday after 2 weeks off!! It's  been a busy week. I went to college on Wednesday which was my day off had to do an entry Maths and English assessment and then I did some nails in the afternoon which left no blogging time :o( best laid plans and all that jazz!! so here's a Sunday Blog post for you.

I was excited to receive the new Avon Opal - Opalesce. At work I one of my colleagues does the Avon Catalogue so this is super convenient for me! I have a lot of Avon nail polishes and every time new ones came out I had to have them!! I have since stopped this as they do duplicate colours (perhaps that would be another post to do!) anywho I digress!

I saw this in the catalogue and thought it looked a lot like the Andrea Fulerton Gemstone Top Coat so I thought I'll have that!  It's a 12ml bottle and is in the normal nail pro bottles and the brush is the long squared usual type.

The formula is thicker that a normal top coat and suspended in it is a range of different sized and shaped pieces of iridescent mylar-ish pieces.

This Is normally £6.00 full price but the introductory offer was £2.50 so I had two bottles!! Rude not to at that price!! It was a good job that I got  two bottles really as I have used about a quarter of the bottle to do the swatches!! ( these are after the jump!)

Rock Hard

Hi Peeps!

I have a review of the Seventeen Rock Hard Nail Effects for you! I briefly mentioned them in a previous post click here!

As I was in Boots the other day and had a voucher to spend I thought it would be rude not to pick these up and have the complete collection.

Boots Seventeen range has a number of mini-collections and this is one of them.

There are four different colours in the range Red, Blue, Black and Grey (grey was mentioned in the previous post!)

These polishes are textured polish and are their equivalent of Zoya Pixie Dust, OPI Liquid Sand or Barry M Texture.  The formula is very sheer and the granules are tiny and to get full opacity two coats are required.  The polish isn't as matte at the other textured polishes I have seen or tried.

On to the colours!  (after the jump!)

Jessica Nails

 Hi Peeps!

I bring you four lovely colours from Jessica Nails these were all purchased from beautyflashshop these colours belonged to my Mum until she decided she was getting rid of all her nail polishes.

When she told me I was astounded she was going to fling these beauties out. So like any nail polish sanctuary I took them in and gave them a home in my Helmer.  Considering they are a couple of years old they seem to be in good condition and fine for my own use.

I have looked on the beautyflashshop website and the only one that is not still for sale is Bette 404.

I haven't been able to trace anything to say that any of the colours have been discontinued! if any one knows otherwise I would be interested to know.

On to the colours; (after the jump)

Spot the alternative!

Hi Peeps!

Thought I'd share a really simple design with you. I was sat in work doing my day job thinking about what I could do to my nails (this was in between calls & not while a customer was talking to me!! ha ha! )  As you will have gathered I love BarryM Products and I happened to have my emergency nail things with me at work! on an ordinary day I have my almond oil, selection of files norm a 180grit and a sand turtle and a worn down 100 grit file along with a very small number of polishes 1-5 ha ha! and of course on this occasion I had my dotting tools!! I knew I wanted to use lychee and it dawned on me that black and lychee would be quite striking. I love the simplicity of this look, I topped it off with George (from Adsa) top coat which is a very fine gold glitter dust. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for dropping by Lolly_Elle :o) x

Blue Glitters

Originally posted on lollyellenails.blogspot.com

Hi Peeps!
This was a simple Mani that I thought looked quite effective. I love the BK polish from Born Pretty Stores. They are creamy and opaque in no more than 2 coats. they have a pleasant smell to them too. The different shades are numbered and don't have names this one is #31. I think these are really good value polishes even if they are small bottles.
I top coated the Mani with Orly Glam FX 'It's Electric' I picked a few of the Glam FX up at Pro Beauty but can purchase here this is such a sparkly polish and was difficult to photograph as its so shiny! I love this.

Foils and Foil Adhesive

Hi Peeps - Again I have been away for a while this seems to happen when I've got long spells with no holiday time from work.
I had seen a few vlogs and blogs where people had been using foils on their natural nails over normal polish (not just with gel polishes) so I thought this would offer a wider choice of art to put on my nails.
I researched the adhesive that was used and there was a specific adhesive for the job so to eBay I went and got The Edge Nails foil glue.
I was quite excited when this arrived in the post and set to removing my Mani to replace it with my new toys!

The glue has the consistency of watered down PVA glue, smells similar too!
After watching a few tutorials I felt confident I could do this!
I painted the glue on my nails waited until it was tacky and foiled away rubbed it a little peeled the foil off and hardly any foil had adhered to the surface mucho sad face! :o(
feeling defeated I have saved this for another day. Back to the researching for me! On the plus side my foils from Born Pretty are amazing and they did work with gel polish see my previous post the colours are so pretty. Click the link for the foils. If anyone has hints and tips please share in the comments.
