Hi Peeps!
I bring to you days 22 - 28 of the #31dc2013!
This was the hardest week of the challenge for me. I wanted to do things that were recognisable to the masses as well as having some kind of importance to me. I probably think too much into things but I wanted to put a bit of what I like into it to make it more personal and with my reasons for choosing you will get to know a bit more about me too!! (now that has to be a bonus!!)
Jump to it then! .....................
Day 22 - Inspired by a song
I chose 'Ace of Spades' When I was younger I used to drink in a local pub that was classed as a Biker Pub and this was one of the songs that was on the juke box! It reminded me of being a late teen again and represented some of my earlier nights out back in the 90's. I wasn't a biker chick or a Goth or anything some of my mates were and it was the only pub that didn't ask for ID!
(I don't advocate underage drinking or deceiving people about your age! this was in a decade pre drink aware!)
Day 23 - Inspired by a Movie
I chose Bat Man and I chose the old fashioned design too. In the summer holidays the cheesy Bat Man Series with Adam West always used to be on the telly and I used to watch it with my Brother. We used to do the fight scenes on each other, much to my Granma's annoyance, Biff! Kaboom! Pow! ha ha gotta love the old stuff! but to tie it in to a movie more the Bat Man Trilogy Batman Begins, Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises are my Bf's fave DVD's & he watches them over and over! my fault though I introduced him to them!
Day 24 - Inspired by a book.
I chose Winnie the Pooh!
I took one element of Winnie and put it on a nail. His 'hunny' pot I love Winnie the Pooh and have something W-T-P in every room in my house! I can hear the yucky and OMG's already but it is subtle. In the Bathroom it's a soap dish I was given and the odd face cloth. In the kitchen there's a couple of mugs and a fridge magnet or two. In my dining room and lounge room I have some prints on the wall. In the bedrooms there's a soft toy or two (ok a few more) ad some ornaments. When I was 14 I went to Euro Disney and Mum got a W-T-P and Piglet which lived in my room. Then when I was 18 I was bought a photo frame and it began to snow ball to every Birthday, Christmas, Easter I got something W-T-P.
Day 25 - Inspired by Fashion.
For this I chose the 60's. I love 60's music and love the clothes from the era. When I was 15 - 16 the 60's had a big influence in the clothes that were on offer. There was a lot of shift dresses, A-line baby doll skirts, tank tops, white shirts with big cuffs and pointed collars. I had a few inappropriately short A-line skirts!! and wedged heals made a bit return with T-bars and Straps! I loved the hair styles of this era too! I couldn't get my hair to look like that ever though so just as well I wasn't around then! The patters that were on offer were big and bold and crisp. I saw this pic and knew exactly what I wanted to do!
Day 26 - Inspired by a Pattern
I wants to use my Barry M special editions for this (well 3 of them) and I really struggled with what pattern to choose. I remember that my Grandma and Mum were and are doodlers that's where I got it from! and they used to teach me all kinds of patterns to do as a kid event those doodles where your pencil cant leave the page. I remember being taught this pattern whereby the pattern needs to be in rows of the same sized lines in opposite directions! it's a lot easier on a flat surface but I like the effect!
Day 27 - Inspired by Art Work
I had a conversation a couple of months ago with one of my Bezzies and she was telling me a story and it involved her being told she looked like the Mona Lisa! ha ha! She doesn't really look like her but as it now reminds me of her I decided to do my attempt of a mini representation of it! My Bf said I have given her boobs and this isn't on the original!! Trust a man to mention that!
Day 28 - Inspired by a Flag
When it came to a flag it was a no brainer for me really, I love the F1 and so does my Bf and he also loves the BTCC as well and this kind of represents that!
I used striping tape to get the lines and filled in with a Sally Hansen Nail art pen.
Here's Week 4 all together!
I hope you liked my offerings and as always thanks for dropping by
Lolly_Elle :o) x
